October has proven to be a busy month so far, and it is getting busier as we speak!  You know what though, that is OK, that means we are out and about in our communities helping out and meeting awesome people like you!

October started out with the opening of our new office, at 134 Pinnell Street, Ripley, WV.  We had the Open House the week before, with a ribbon cutting by the Mayor of Ripley, Carolyn Rader.  We want to thank everyone that came out on that rainy evening and supported us.

We then got to head over to Madison, WV to the Boone Memorial Health Fair.  We provided Free Vision Screening and gave out goodies to all that stopped by our booth.  BMH always does a great job with this event and we enjoy helping out and promoting their facility.  BMH has excellent doctors (Our Dr. Caudill does Cataract Surgery there), wonderful staff, and a beautiful new facility.

Our Beckley office competed in the Beckley Chili Night on October 6th.  This was the first year that we participated and it was awesome!  Downtown Beckley streets were closed to traffic and filled with chili loving people.  Thousands of people were there!  We saw lots of our patients and made many new friends that loved our “Red Eye Special” and our “Green Eyed Monster Chili”.  Our Beckley staff did an excellent job decorating our spooky booth, complete with spiderwebs and eyeballs!  We had to make 10 gallons (Yes, I said 10) of chili for the event and our efforts paid off.  We won first place in the business non-restaurant category for our “Red Eye Special” chili.  We will definitely be there again next year!

The rest of the month is filled with the Beckley Senior Health Fair on the 18th, the Remote Area Medical Event in Charleston the 19th – 21st, and preparing for the Mac & Cheese Cook-Off on November 3rd benefiting the the Childhood Language Center.  Come out and visit us at one of the events.  We love seeing everyone!  You especially need to come to the Mac & Cheese event and try our mac & cheese eyeball.  It is pretty tasty!  Plus you get to help a great cause.
